Daily Peace Action
October 13th
Tomorrow I will spread some smiles around my team by buying coffee for the 3 of them in the morning.
Results: I put lots of smiles on peoples faces today and it was a great conversation opener. That also led to inviting me to be part of the staff well being committee.
October 14th
Tomorrow I will give more positive feedback sent out to parents for the progress students to motivate them and have them know that I recognized their effort. usually I never get time to email parents.
Results: Today spent my free period giving positive feedback to parents about their children which resulted in my email flooding with gratitude for the small task I took time to do. I learned the importance to also recognize the good students and their small efforts.
October 15th
Tomorrow I will cover the first lesson for my teacher friend who had been absent for 2 days because her daughter was sick and that will take some load off of her.
Results: This act lead to me bonding with students from the other section and they wanted to show off their talents to me The lesson was smooth as silk.
October 16th
I brought coffee to the wonderful security lady near my class as I came back from Coffee Bean and she just rejoiced. It made our relationship better and made her feel cared for.
October 17th
Tomorrow I will let my grade ten students sit where they want ( boys on the right, girls on the left). previously I had changed the seating plan so that I can easily watch the academic performance of my boys but on a Thursday they deserve to have some freedom.
Results: the students felt empowered and joyful. the lesson was smooth.
October 20th
Sunday I will try the power walk with my grade 10 students to see their reactions. Our lesson is about : Learning from the past" and it focuses on Culture.
October 21st
Monday is the day I'm excited and waiting patiently for since I am organizing a bake sale fundraising event. My Advisory grade 8 students are doing this as part of their service as action and I am doing it to send money for my people through Qatar charity.
